After seeing their stocks plummet to some extent because of the One M9 not being on the same wavelength as the M7 and M8, HTC sought to come up with something that would ratify their failings with the One M9. After trying hard to come up with something, the Taiwanese giants have finally launched their latest flagship codenamed HTC 10; Another one of a series of mind-blowing smartphones the year of 2016 has brought upon us.
Body and Display
The HTC 10 follows a similar design to its predecessors. It has been refined further to give it a premium and sleeker look. The phone features a full metal unibody just like its predecessors making it slightly heavier than other smartphones at 161g. We don’t really care as long as we’re getting premium looks because of its metal unibody and neither should you.
The display is quite frankly, HTC’s best ever because of the 5.2 inches Super LCD5 capacitive touchscreen with a mountainous 565ppi pixel density. It won’t finish here. The HTC 10 features a 1440p resolution HD display and frankly speaking, we’re utterly amazed by what the display offers on paper. It is finely poised to be the best ever smartphone display, let alone HTC’s best ever.
Camera
Just like Samsung, we’ve never complained about HTC’s cameras. The HTC 10 features a spirited 12 megapixel primary camera with a trio of excellent features which include optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash making the camera the king of kings.
The secondary camera quite stupendously features optical image stabilization, autofocus and HDR all housed safely in a 5 megapixel sensor. Not every day do we get to hear about secondary cameras having these features and immense credit goes to HTC for making this possible.
Hardware and Software
A Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo processor with 4GB of RAM runs the built-in Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow. The internal storage comes in two variants standing at 32 and 64GB which can be expanded further through the SD card slot. The finger print sensor and Quick charge 3.0 technology round-off an incredible comeback by HTC in 2016.
