While Huawei has done a largely spectacular job when it comes to producing cheap smartphones with excellent specifications, one thing that always used to let us down was the way they used to design their phones. Most of its smartphones such as the Y550, Y330 etc. follow a very monotonous and simple design with the three capacitive buttons below the touchscreen which were never that appealing. Finally, we’ve found something that has broken that hoodoo in the form of the Huawei Y6.
The Huawei Y6 is definitely what we had been looking for. We really despised the design of most of its budget smartphones but as they say when there is a will, there is way. The Y6 is probably the most stunning smartphone you can get your hands on in this price range. Another of Huawei’s prodigies, the Honor 3C is also very similar but in my opinion, nothing beats the Y6 because of its design and some specifications.
The 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 294 ppi pixel density resting on top of a gorgeous body is one of its most fearsome traits. The 294 ppi pixel density should’ve at least crossed a 300 though. The performance is also good enough albeit not lag free with its Quad-core 1.1 GHz Cortex-A7 processor. The phone comes in with two variants separated by their RAM. One carries 1GB of RAM while the other supports 2GB and it is highly recommended to spend some extra cash in order to bring the 2GB variant home as the RAM should always be a zero tolerance feature.
Other than that, the primary and secondary cameras come in at 8 and 2 megapixels respectively. We presume this is the highest one can expect in this price so you probably should be content with these. The phone comes in three gorgeous colors including gold ensuring whichever color you choose, it won’t let you down.
That brings to the end of our journey with the Huawei Y6. Stunning looks, economical price and good performance are its three standout features which are enough to make us happy. What about you?
