When the Nexus of the smartphone world has shifted towards producing top-drawer devices, Nokia coming-up with the budget friendly Nokia 2.1 is something that kind of baffled us. The device is set to cost Rs. 15,000.
Plastic body with a pinch of aluminum
The Nokia 2.1 is an entry-level device meaning that you should not be expecting anything fancy from this low-key smartphone. A 90% plastic body with an aluminum frame was pretty much a given while obese dimensions that include a 9.7mm width and 174g weight were somewhat expected quantities.
Whoah! The Display springs a surprise!
The Nokia 2.1’s crowning feature is its large display. Statistically, the smartphone features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 267ppi pixel density. Enough to dish out a 720p resolution, it won’t be the best but will do its utmost to please you in a satisfactory manner.
Plain cameras
The cameras department presents some very known specs; these include an 8 MP primary shooter with an LED flash and customary camera features. The selfie sensor houses a 5 MP sensor so there really isn’t much to talk about here.
Onwards to the hardware!
Speaking of hardware, we’re disappointed to see the smartphone featuring just 1GB RAM albeit with a quad-core processor to power the built-in Android Oreo. Further disappointing news includes only 8 gigs of internal storage but with an external card-slot and no fingerprint scanner. The battery at 4000 mAh is stunningly powerful so it somewhat guarantees more than a day’s usage subject to usage frequency that is.
Blue Copper, Blue Silver and Grey Silver are the available colour schemes. We’d definitely recommend looking at Xiaomi and Vivo release rather than getting attached to this one!
