Being the source of a lot of surprise this MWC, Nokia has released a number of phones for its fans to pick and choose from. One of these banks on Nostalgia, just like last year’s reborn Nokia 3310 4G. What is this phone that takes you down memory lane? Well, it’s none other than the Nokia 8110 4G that was starred in the Matrix Movie in 1998!
Design and Hardware
The Nokia 8110 bring back the iconic slider keypad design giving it a banana look and feel due to its curved nature. The phone is entirely made out of plastic, so it won’t be a burden on anyone by being heavier than needed.
Being a feature phone at its core, you can’t really expect the 8110 to do anything than the bare essentials. There’s a 2.4-inch QVGA display and 4G connectivity for fast internet browsing...that is if you can handle surfing on that screen. There’s a 2MP main camera on the back, which you’ll probably never use anyway. The Nokia 8110 has 4GB of internal storage, and is run by a Snapdragon 215 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. Why all the power for such a basic phone? Well that’s because it runs a forked version of Android so you can install some basic apps.
All in all, the Nokia 8110 is banking on Nostalgia to get itself picked up. And why not? It’s not a bad phone for a secondary driver.
