With the recent introduction of 3G and 4G LTE networks in Pakistan, the smartphone companies have found a new life and it doesn’t matter what manufacturer it is, what matters is if the device is affordable and has support for at least one of the two newly introduced technologies in Pakistan. This has given companies like QMobile a chance to grasp the low-end and mid-range market. The Noir Z9 is a mid-ranger, but with very good hardware and is only listed at about Rs. 20,000.
The Noir Z9, being one of their most high-end line of devices, the Z series, is certainly a contender for the best bang for buck upper mid-range device. It has a nice sleek design with a metallic feel on the edges. It boasts a 4.8” HD AMOLED (720 x 1280 pixels) display which is great. The AMOLED certainly helps in preserving battery life, and the 306 ppi pixel density isn’t bad at all. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone has support for 2G, 3G and even LTE networks.
In terms of hardware, the Noir Z9 is rocking a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, which is a pretty good one. It has a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 on board with Adreno 306 graphics processor. Accompanied by 2 gigs of RAM the phone is definitely high up there in the mid-rangers and can certainly run a lot of the things pretty smoothly. It has a 16 GB internal storage which is cozy enough for some users but sadly it doesn’t provide any microSD expansion slot.
The phone provides two cameras, with the rear one being an 8 megapixels sensor capable of touch focus, HDR, panorama, etc. and also an LED Flash. It can record videos of up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. The front camera is also quite a good one at 5 megapixels that can also record 1080p footage.
The phone is tough in that it can survive a lot of the minor falls even after using it for a long time. It has a non-removable battery of 2000 mAh which is good enough to last a day upon mild usage but with 3G or LTE on, it will certainly drain pretty quickly.
