2016’s over and it seems as if Samsung has already moved on from it. Its excellent 2016 A series releases have made a genuine name for themselves and as every excellent manufacturer does, the South Korean giants will march from strength to strength through the release of the A5 2017.
Build quality and display
The A5 2016 was a true gem of a smartphone because of its excellent looks and sumptuous build quality. Comparing that with its newfound successor, the A5 2017 features a similar all glass design that looks quite alike the Galaxy S7 from the front and back panels. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the smartphone is a tad thicker than the A5 2016 at 7.8mm which isn’t overweight by any means. That can be attributed to its IP67-certified dust and waterproofing which is an excellent addition the latter brings over the former.
Its display features an adequately sized 5.2 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 424ppi pixel density. This translates into an excellent 1080p HD resolution which is sure to provide supreme and sharp graphics atop its front display. Other than that, Super AMOLEDs have always produced excellent performance in all lighting conditions allotting the A5 2017 similar power.
Cameras
The A5 2017 brings improvements on both fronts over the A5 2016's cameras; the device features a large 16 megapixel primary sensor with OIS and other customary features that include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and an LED flash. Its secondary camera, only secondary by name, features an equally capable 16 megapixel sensor providing you with equal muscle on both sides of the smartphone.
Hardware and software
The A5 2017 features a 1.9GHz Octa-Core Cortex-A53 processor with an additional 3GB of RAM. Thoroughly capable of running the built-in Android Nougat, the smartphone will ensure an excellent user experience atop Google’s latest operating system.
Its internal storage stands at 32 gigs and an external memory card slot is also in attendance. Its other customary features include Fast Charge, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and a large 3000 mAh battery sums up a true modern day release from Samsung.
