While Apple is focused on producing an expensive iPhone every year, Samsung divides its time in developing high-end flagships as well as the more affordable smartphones. Its S series consists of its most high profile smartphones, its A series consists of medium priced smartphones whereas the J series consists of relatively lower cost smartphones with excellent specifications. The Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 is its latest increment to the J series.
The J series is mostly based in the economical part of the price range. Samsung has indeed tried its best to give its maximum in that price range and the J5 is a marvel of this effort. With a 5.2 inches super capacitative 282 ppi pixel density touchscreen and Dual SIM capability, it definitely is no pushover.
Performance-wise, it may get laggy with time but the Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU powered by 2GB of RAM suggests otherwise. Do fasten your seatbelts as things might get a little speedy for your liking. It also offers built-in storage of 16GB which can further be increased through the external memory card slot upto 128GB. That’s more than enough to store ten’s of movies, thousands of songs and what not!
The camera comes in with 13 megapixels and f/1.9 aperture size with the customary autofocus and LED flash features which will ensure that even the most insignificant of pictures stands at the top of the ladder of quality. Samsung’s cameras are generally very good and this one will hopefully keep that reputation up so will the front facing 5 megapixel selfie camera!
The Samsung Galaxy J5 comes in four distinguished colors namely white, black, gold, rose gold. Pleasing to the eye, all of the colors are sure to make the J5 a hit in your palms. Managed by the Android v5.1 Lollipop, getting accustomed to it will take no time.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 is a good choice for users who do not have much cash to splash and instead they want to make the most out of what they have. We do have our reservations though as Samsung’s lower-end phones do get pretty laggy after a couple of months usage. We’d look for something else, not belittling the J5 in anyway as its specifications speak for itself.
