Advantages of Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE
Disadvantages of Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE
Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE long term review
With the Galaxy S10 and S10 plus's release this year, it's time to ask: Is the S7 edge still worth buying? If you're someone who's careful with their gadgets and/or uses a case, and if you aren't a performance freak, then yes, the S7e is still worth a look. Its gorgeous display, water resistance, excellent camera, (fast) wireless charging, Samsung Pay, and improved software make it one of the most feature-filled phones on the market. And with the next generation's impending unveiling, prices are sure to drop. The complaints that us enthusiasts might have with the phone (performance, an outdated micro-USB connector, etc.) just aren't shared with normal consumers. Most people simply look for an easy-to-use phone that looks good, has a nice camera, lasts for over a day's use, is readily available on their carrier, and maybe has water resistance so that they don't have to shell out extra cash for an expensive case. The S7 edge checks all of those boxes and more.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE still worth buying in 2019?
Samsung Galaxy S7 was Samsung's 2016 flagship phone with very powerful hardware and the best camera at that time. Even in 2019, the phone will perform very well, however, this device being already received two major Android OS upgrades, won't receive any more major upgrade. What it is still receiving are the monthly security updates that will also be stopped sooner or later. So we do not recommend going for this phone in 2019. However, if you love Samsung's hardware design, but don't want to deal with the Infinity Display and the removal of a home button, the S7 is great. You get a great camera, great hardware, and a few more features that could be beneficial. One of those additional features is the inclusion of the IP63 water resistance.
Galaxy S7 EDGE and Galaxy S6 EDGE Camera Comparison
When released, S7e was the incremental upgrade to S6e in almost all departments except for the Camera. The biggest news in the camera department is that it has actually seen a megapixel drop, going from 16MP in the S6 to 12MP in S7. Now, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Samsung has completely rebuilt the sensor, making it much smaller yet without sacrificing any of the functionality. It says shots should be 95% brighter and the low-light autofocus has been dramatically improved. On the front, there's the same 5MP camera as of S6. The Galaxy S7 doesn’t make a huge improvement to the overall picture quality of the S6. Daylight pictures still look gorgeous, but low-light is better and auto-focus is much faster which might be the deciding factor for most of the people. Color accuracy is also improved with more vibrant looking pictures. One more thing is the battery as no matter how good your camera is you have to trust your battery as well. S7 EDGE comes with 3000 mAh battery as compared to 2550 mAh of S6 EDGE. This huge improvement will definitely let users take plenty of more pictures.
