One of the options in the mid-range smartphone market is the Sony Xperia T3, at least in terms of quality if not in super high specifications. Released in mid 2014, the T3 is a decent addition in the Xperia family.
Looking at the phone from the outside, it has a simple, elegant and premium-like design that feels good in the hands. The screen is 5.3 inches big with a resolution of 720 x 1280 and a pixel density of 277 ppi. Again, it's not something that'll shake the whole scene but is good enough for an average user's use (especially keeping in mind that it's a mid-range device). Though what separates the T3 from the rest of the challenge is Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, which makes the IPS LCD screen richer than the usual.
In terms of performance, the device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset and a Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7 processor. It also has an Adreno 305 (as the phone's GPU) which raises the bar a little more when it comes to power and keeps the (out of the box) Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS fluent while being used. However, the 8 GB of internal space and 1 GB RAM are a bit downer, though Sony has compensated for the internal space with a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 32 GB) for memory expansion.
Now Sony may be known amongst the big boys in the game when it comes to smartphone cameras, but their mid-range series always gets ignored and has to do with rather more, well, mid-range-ish sensors. The back camera is an 8 megapixel one with an aperture of f/2.4, LED flash and records videos in full HD 1080p. The secondary (front facing) camera is only 1.1 MP but still does record videos in 720p HD at 30 frames per second.
The 2500 mAh battery is again, a similar story, that isn't much long-lasting but is good enough to keep the phone alive for a day's usage. Long story short, the Xperia T3 isn't what you may call a game-changer, but is definitely a decent mid-range entry in the lineup.
