HTC’s huffing and puffing to retain some of the pedigree it commanded a few years back. We cannot say whether it has been successful in doing so but however, we’ve gotten to see some nifty devices such as the U11. The Desire 10 Compact is more for the budget-savvy though and that is our focus for the time being with a price-tag of 18,000 rupees.
Has an uncanny resemblance with the HTC 10
HTC’s designing mostly revolves around some known parameters; the all plastic back is one of these as most of the Taiwanese giant’s budget releases are more centered on polycarbonate instead of metal. The caption brilliantly describes how it felt on first sightings when it comes to us.
Display wise, you would’ve been happy if the Desire 10 Compact would’ve come a few years back as the smartphone features a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 294ppi pixel density. However, the 720p resolution goes well with the display size allowing some fine graphics atop it.
Fine cameras but the hardware makes us smile
The cameras department isn’t the best but it’ll get the job done nicely; the 13 MP primary sensor despite missing out on prowess-adding features but its snapping would do just fine. Speaking of the selfie camera, the 5 MP sensor might not be your cup of tea and it really isn’t ours as well.
The hardware department brings some splendid news capped-off by 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. A quad-core processor, Android Marshmallow and expandable card-slot are pretty much customary features while we’re disappointed to see the Desire 10 Compact miss out on a fingerprint scanner. A 3300 mAh non-removable battery however contains some battery life which should provide a day’s worth of usage (subject to usage frequency of course). Other than that, Black and White colour schemes round-off this budget release from HTC.
