Q3 of 2016 is poised to see two new smartphones from HTC. The Taiwanese giants have already got the ball rolling with the release of their premium flagship, HTC 10, and now their focus seems on getting the mid-ranged price bracket’s attention; enter HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle.
Build quality and display
The Desire 10 lifestyle has been built as a cheaper version of its more powerful counterpart, the Desire 10 Pro. The Desire series rarely or never makes use of metal. Despite that, their smartphones never give up on their premium looks and such is the case with the Desire 10 Lifestyle. Comprising of a polycarbonate plastic back and a metal frame separating the front and back panels, the Desire 10 lifestyle has Desire series written all over it. Its dimensions are extremely good because of a 7.7mm width while its 156g weight can be labelled as okay.
Coming to its display, the smartphone features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 267ppi pixel density. This translates into a 720p resolution about which we’re not sure as to how will it make peace with the large display. Corning Gorilla Glass protection is back again though we can’t specify its version yet.
Cameras
The Desire 10 Lifestyle, though, is a smaller sibling of a more powerful giant, its cameras can still be considered as powerful. This is primarily down to its 13 megapixel primary sensor with an LED flash while its selfie camera seems a tad of the pace with a 5 megapixel sensor. However, considering HTC’s prowess in this category, we’ve got no reason to doubt the Desire 10 Lifestyle’s snapping prowess.
Hardware and software
The smartphone is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core processor with an additional 3GB of RAM. 3GB of RAM is always good news which makes the smartphone finely poised to seamlessly run the built-in Android Marshmallow. Dolby speakers ensure classic sound quality while the 2700 mAh battery is packed with at-least a day’s worth of battery usage. However, unlike its more expensive counterpart, the Desire 10 Lifestyle is devoid of a fingerprint sensor. Try giving the Lenovo ZUK Z1 a look before setting your heart on this one.
