Continuing with its newly found obsession with budget-friendly smartphones, Nokia’s come-up with the Nokia 3.1. The smartphone’s a definite upgrade upon the entry-level Nokia 2.1 but we aren’t very pleased with what it has to offer with a price-tag close to Rs. 20,000.
Simplistic design with plastic dominating
The Nokia 3.1 features mostly plastic with an aluminum frame separating the glass front panel and the all plastic back one. Its dimensions are acceptable most noticeably its 138g weight but when it comes to its 8.7mm width, some people might not really like it that much!
Medium-sized display
The smartphone features a 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen flanked with two thick bezels. Its pixel density stands at 310ppi which should just about be enough to give it a 1080p HD resolution but according to benchmarks, its resolution tops out at 720p. However, with the adequate display size and Corning Gorilla Glass, it’ll do well to produce some adequate graphics.
Cameras: plain but powerful
The caption rightfully describes the smartphone’s camera sensors; the primary camera features a large 13 MP sensor with an LED flash with nothing else to talk about except customary camera features. Similarly, the selfie camera boasts a big 8 MP sensor. Adequately poised, don’t you think?
A tad below the standard mid-range hardware
The smartphone features an octa-core processor with either 2 or 3GB of variant dependent RAM to power the built-in Android Oreo. The 2GB RAM variant houses 16 gigs of internal storage while the 3GB RAM variant features 32GB both with an external card-slot available.
No fingerprint scanner to talk about while Blue Copper, Black Chrome and White Iron colour schemes grace its exterior. A 2990 non-removable battery juices the smartphone.
