OnePlus is working tirelessly to make a name for itself. A lot of its releases have clearly demonstrated the Chinese manufacturer’s giant killing prowess and the succession of OnePlus 2 from the OnePlus One is a continuation of this process. A smartphone built with excellent capabilities and high-end specifications, OnePlus just seizes to amaze with every release.
The OnePlus 2’s design sees some significant differences from its predecessor, the OnePlus One. These include carrying a home and two capacitive buttons, required to operate the device, on the front bottom bezel. The smartphone also sees it gaining 13g more than its partner in crime which in-turn leads to a 1mm extra width.
The back also features significant differences to the OnePlus One as the camera, laser autofocus sensor and LED flash have been moved to the upper-center area. The back cover is now textured, compared to the previous smooth surface which fails to amaze us.
The front very much carries the same display with a 5.5 inches LTPS IPS capacitive touchscreen with a 401ppi pixel density. 1080p resolution also joins the party whereas the CynogenMod firmware is no longer present.
OnePlus’s cameras have received some excellent responses and there is no reason why the OnePlus 2’s cameras wouldn’t step up to the plate. The primary camera features a 13 megapixel, f/2.0 aperture sized lens with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus. Loaded with state of the art aforementioned features, the primary camera is ready to rub shoulders with the best in the business.
The secondary camera features a 5 megapixel sensor with a larger aperture compared to its predecessor at f/2.4.
The OnePlus 2 comes with lesser clock speed (reduced to decrease heating) in the form of a Quad-core 1.56 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 processor and a newer Adreno 430 GPU to smoothly run the built-in Android v5.1 Lollipop. The smartphone is marketed in 2 variants separated by their RAM which stands at 3 and 4GB. A fingerprint sensor has also been integrated to ensure that the OnePlus 2 keeps up-to-date with all the demands of the ever so booming smartphone world.
