After months of speculation about Samsung re-launching its fallen Galaxy Note 7, we can finally confirm that all those rumors have in-fact turned into reality through the release of the Galaxy Note FE. The FE stands for “Fans’ Edition” and the smartphone is indeed a refurbished version of the aforementioned Note 7.
The Galaxy Note FE is an exact carbon copy of the Note 7 with near similar specifications and build materials. The smartphone features a gorgeous dual-glass panel design like the Galaxy S7 Edge with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 adding to its sturdiness and gloss. Its dimensions at a 7.9mm width and 167g weight are commendable for a smartphone of this size and its IP68 certified dust and waterproofing adds to its wide arsenal of features.
Despite being discontinued because of its battery fiasco, the Note 7 featured a staggering display that housed undoubted quality. In keeping-up with that, the Galaxy Note FE features a 100% similar 5.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 515ppi pixel density. Equating to a hunky 1440p HD resolution, a combination of the large display and HD resolution will simply fulfill all your graphical details to the fullest with excellent attention to even the smallest of details.
The smartphone features a brilliant 12 megapixel primary sensor with superb camera features that include OIS, phase detection autofocus and an LED flash. Cameras have always been Samsung’s thing and the Note FE duly obliges by providing a superb camera sensor of its own that has the eye to catch visually stunning photo and videography.
Its selfie sensor stands at 5 megapixels. To be honest, we did expect to see an 8 megapixel sensor here but we’re optimistic that it’ll do well nevertheless.
The smartphone is powered by a hybrid octa-core processor with 4 gigs of RAM. That’s more than enough to efficiently run the built-in Android Nougat so if its lag you were worried about, your fears should’ve been allayed by now. The device’s internal storage at 64 gigs is massive news as it’s finely poised for some heavy duty lifting the Galaxy Note FE is designed for. If that’s not enough for you, an expandable memory card-slot is there at your service.
Remember the Iris Scanner? If not then the Note 7 was the first smartphone ever to house a feature like this. The Iris Scanner is a more advanced substitute of fingerprint scanners with its functionality centered around scanning your eye for any sort of authentication. Fast forward a year, the Note FE is back with this excellent feature for your pleasure.
Other than these, an expectedly much improved 3200 mAh non-removable battery provides power to the smartphone while Fast Charging, variant dependent wireless charging, USB type-C and 4 beautiful colour schemes rounding-off the return of the King in some style.
