One of Huawei’s most credible releases when it comes to the budget side of things, the Honor 6A is a smartphone that should make all those people happy who’ve been wanting to get their hands on a good and affordable smartphone. The device costs just below 19,000 rupees and we’re relatively happy with what the smartphone has to offer within the price it commands.
As far as the front panel is concerned, you’ve seen this design in multiple other Huawei devices such as the Y5 2017, Honor 6C etc. This customary thick bezelled, no capacitive buttons and plain design has somewhat become the norm among Huawei devices since some time now. From the back, the Honor 6A has its fair share of similarities with the Y5 II, albeit it goes a step further by providing a back-mounted fingerprint scanner. Other than that, an 8.2mm width and 143g weight was somewhat expected from a budget device.
The Honor 6A features a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 294ppi pixel density. Translating into a 720p resolution, we’re positively optimistic that the device will do well to cater for your satisfying user experience by providing excellent and crisp graphics. Due to its aforementioned thick bezels, the screen only covers 67.5% of the smartphone’s front panel.
Just like Samsung, Huawei’s cameras have always performed well. We got to do some testing on the famed Honor 4C sometime ago and despite its camera featuring no muscular features such as phase-detection or laser autofocus, its snapping results were very good without a doubt.
The Honor 6A features a similar 13 megapixels primary sensor but with the all-important phase detection autofocus and other customary camera features such as an LED flash, geo-tagging, touch-focus and face detection. The phase-detection autofocus gives the camera sensor some extra muscle that allows it to perform quite well leading to some excellent photo and videography.
The Honor 6A is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 processor with variant dependent RAM and internal storage. The device has the following variants:
Other than these, both the devices contain a fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM capability, a 3020 mAh battery plus 4 different colour schemes to choose from.
