We’ve been very impressed with some of QMobile devices as of late and the J7 Pro duly takes its place in one of them. The smartphone punches well above its weight for a device that costs just under 18,000 rupees with some excellent specifications that even caused us to wonder exactly how did the company manage to pull that off.
Nothing new in the design though
The J7 Pro keeps up with QMobile’s normal design standards which feature a similar look to a-lot of its counterparts like the Energy X2 and its predecessor, the Noir J7. One of the criticisms we have had of the company is that all of its smartphones, be it their most expensive ones feature identical designs that makes it impossible to distinguish the premium ones from the more affordable ones. That said, the device features an 8.8mm width with a pinch of metal standing between the front and back panels.
A display for the large screen lovers
The Noir J7 Pro’s display features a big 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 267ppi pixel density. This equates to a 720p resolution meaning that while, qualitatively the smartphone’s screen wouldn’t turn out to be the best but quantity wise, there aren’t many devices in this price bracket with a display as big as this bar some Infinix and Lenovo devices.
The smartphone offers two powerful cameras
One of the great things about the QMobile J7 Pro is that other than offering a large display, its cameras offer equally competitive sensors as well. This is because the device’s primary camera is a 13 megapixel sensor with and LED flash and other customary camera features such as geo-tagging and touch-focus. Its selfie camera is equally capable because of its muscular 8 megapixel sensor and we’re very happy to see QMobile being generous with it. It wouldn’t have taken long for the company to include a smaller 5 megapixel sensor rather than a larger 8 megapixel one.
Pretty feature-laden for its price
The Noir J7 Pro is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor with an additive 3 gigs of RAM. That’s a pretty hunky power-plant for a smartphone costing just below 18,000 rupees and bar some occasional lag, it’ll do reasonably well to run the built-in Android Marshmallow smoothly. The result is an overall satisfactory user experience.
Its internal storage stands at 32 gigs which is another one of its excellent characteristics which is sure to tip many scales in its favour but if you still think that’s not enough for you, plug-in an SD card and increase your options. Other than these, you get a large 3150 mAh non-removable battery, fast charging capability and dual-SIM support as well with the J7 Pro.
QMobile J7 Pro pros:
- Pretty excellent processing power with 3 gigs of RAM for the amount you’ll be paying for it
- Two powerful camera sensors with the selfie camera being an 8 megapixel one proving to be a real reason to happy about
- 32 gigs of internal storage is always a definite plus
- A large 5.5 touchscreen is what many people would love to own in lesser bucks
- Fast charging is always welcome news
- Somewhat affordable
QMobile Noir J7 Pro cons:
- Same old design
- No fingerprint scanner
